it's so long, so so long ... ever since my last post on canoeing nationals ...

anyways, for those who have yet to get an update on our school's canoeing, here goes;

A Div - Champion

B Div - Champion

C Div - Runner-Up (lost 1 point for championship title!)

Yes, like all ACS(I) canoeists would agree with me that the 1 point would really determine our caoeing future. 1 point for grand slam, 1 point for complete success. But if you look from another point of view, would the 1 point really determine that we will do well next year when our current sec 1s are not up to mark yet? well ... i'm just very sad that my graduating year didn't have a three-tier level of accomplishment. In any case, it's a very good run and the next time the team can ever achieve a hat-trick would be 2 years down the road ... good luck to all ... hope you all can make it.

much has happened since the gruelling 4-day canoeing c'ships ... but it all happened in a little over a month;

July: canoeing c'ships / twentyfour day 1 / bb founders man award ceremony / fps finals / cmps report submission

August: national day / olympics / uyo awards / etmr installation / twentyfour day 2 / bb rod parade

July & August: COURSEWORK!!

speaking of which ... twentyfour was the most crazy event i've handled this year ... not even the bb ta camp can come close to this ... it has indeed been a mad rush preparing and the week-long competition process. and i was so nervous initially speaking ... but then, after many many speeches to large and small crowds, i gained back my confidence ...

it's really great to be the president of mpac!! it has really allowed me to open my heart and desires + i could do things with ease and painlessly, most importantly. here, i would like to thank my wonderful committee ... eddie, kapi, saat, sridhar, hafiz, allister for putting up such a superb performance.

immediately after it ended, i was already thinking of twentyfour (CUBE) if that is what it will be called next year. i am so happy and satisfied that i want to do it all over again!! haha ... it feels like american idol ... one year later and stuff.

next, what has inspired me for the past 2 weeks was none other than the olympics. and im sure it did to many singaporeans. my class decided to take up table tennis ... in class! playing matches like i never imagined ... i must say that they have improved over the past 2 weeks ... and I finally showed interest when I played during free time on thursday!! i must say it's quite fun .. never regret that decision ... hmm, anyways, heard brian lee saying he wanted to take up table tennis next yr as recreational sport.

earlier today was the canoeing 500m finals. i watched all on CHN U, delayed telecast. but ... it was still there for me to watch at least. i was nerve-wrecking. current world champ for 500m and defending 1000m 2nd-place, adam van koeverden (whom everyone has been talking about) faltered in his 1K race coming in a disappointing position (if ur interest, go find out!). then, his 500m race ... he charged out like usual, only to be beaten by the australian just by a bit. he thus had to settle for a silver medal. talk about being left out? he came back strong in his forte event ... which must be applauded for. hard for an athlete to retain double honours in his pet event at consecutive olympics (unless ur another phelps lah!).

well, looking ahead, there's still the FPS Singapore Finals Results (aka Australian Finals Qualification Results). it will be arriving in approximately 2 days if all goes well (monday). i'm certainly waiting for it and can't wait to go to Melbourne! but first, i need to cross 2 hurdles ... firstly, preparations for final year exams and (if we get in), intensive fps/cmps trainings. till next time (hope it wont be long again), toodles.
