how many times did people touch your life? does it come easily, through sheer determination, hardwork or both? singing is one of the greatest things to touch our hearts very very easily. i can relate that with the American Idols Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and newly-crowned Jordin Sparks. when you know that you've done better than you've expected, like for example hitting a key that you've never thought you would have achieved or sang in a soothing, yet powerful tone.

the recap
after intensively listening to Jordin Sparks' recent weeks' performances, i truly would have crowned her the 2007 Idol title. She has done herself proud by choosing perfect songs "Broken Wing", "I Who Have Nothing", "She Works Hard for the Money" - these are songs that can showcase her range and top-notching vocals. Her winning song and single "This Is My Now", to me, is very special, especially the lyrics and the way she sang it was magnificent, constantly reminding me how Carrie Underwood closed both Final Performance and Finale nights with "Inside Your Heaven". In the market now, Jordin and Carrie would be fighting for the best debut album sales when Jordin's album releases hopefully by year's end.

the formula
all winning singles (if i'm not wrong) have hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the past few years, so, I think "This Is My Now" would be no exception. they all have the winning formula of having slow/mid-tempo and inspirational lyrics. every singer longs to have one (should be) as it can project their vocals and attract listeners.

the experience
i've passed the youth ministry worship team auditions and carried on with the interview earlier today. i'm truly thankful that God has led me to this route and i really wanna repay back what he has done for me all these while. it has truly been a great time for me, listening to all the Christian music, which has the same feeling as the winning songs of american idol.

it's been some time now ... many thought this blog is gonna go anytime soon, but hey, it's back ... with more of life. It is so fast, one semester is up yet i feel it's just the beginning of a new year. More quirky stuff are coming up ahead.

exams | a frowning curve
all results are back and are bad. it's totally unheard of for anyone who hears my results, so i'm not gonna elaborate much on it. people can celebrate for passing this and that, but failing is also common. never will i be free again, but study is now priority over the rest.

teachers | going, going ...
it is very sad that our Chem teacher, a strong believer & messenger of Christ is going back to the previous school he's teaching. He has been truly dedicated to his job and even telling us the most important points + putting up a website for us to download his notes. i dont think there's any teacher that would be so dedicated like him to update it very frequently and regularly, so much so that he has stayed up till the wee hours to finish up his task. I really do respect his mission and his teaching, he is an amazing teacher.

worship | "singing Majesty ..."
for the past few months, ever since 2006 Christmas, i've been thinking of joining my church (youth section) worship team/band after the X'Mas carolling last year. my singing debut on stage (haha sounds so official) in school was rather nerve-wrecking and somewhat exciting too cuz' you get to present your vocals. it has propelled me forward to gain confidence to join the worship team. and originally planned to join after the canoeing season, but i'm simply too impatient to serve God. He has shown the way for me many many times and this is how i "repay" back by serving Him!

it's truly a blessing that i would be able to sing during the BB Camp in june also and my audition for the church worship team is comin' up very very soon, so yeah, please keep it in your prayers (thanks for your help).

album | let's make a "Reintroduction"
much have been said about my second (sophomore) album ... "Reintroduction" comes to you in the second half of June 2007. The album is still in production and has about 5 more songs to complete to make it to a total of 14 original songs. this album is edgier, a wider mass-appeal to different genres - from country right down to pop. it will be available for pre-order soon as it is expected to have a jammed website when it officially releases worldwide via MBS store.

i've been working on this ever since "Tearful" was officially released last june. although it may seem only one year later, but tearful began its pre-release in november/december 2005, so ... "Reintroduction" would come up to be about 1.5 years after "Tearful". already off the second album is its debut hit single "Just Why" of the pop/rock genre. so what are u waitin' for ... go download now!!
